Re-Loved is a Christian charity helping to provide essential household furniture to people in desperate need of help. The project's aim is to serve the local community by sourcing and providing furniture and household items to people in emergency need, free of charge.

Re-Loved is based in Worthing, West Sussex. It was established by Jubilee Church in 2012 and is now run by staff and other volunteers. They started out from a home conservatory and now have a busy warehouse in East Worthing. Their volunteers include those who are recovering addicts, ex homeless, some with mental health issues, learning disabilities, are retired or simply lonely and looking for a purpose and community to be part of. One of the things that is very important to Re-Loved is keeping usable items out of landfill and getting them out to local families in crisis and in doing so bringing the local community together. They provide items to use until clients can afford something they would choose!

They  work alongside local agencies and organisations whose clients are moving into empty accommodation or whose income restricts them from purchasing or replacing basic items.

Previous referrals have included:
  • Domestic abuse
  • Homelessness
  • Serious illness
  • House fire
  • Vulnerably housed
  • Recovering addicts
  • Very low income

Items they collect:
  • Beds and mattresses
  • Bedroom furniture
  • Dining tables and chairs
  • Kitchen ware basics
  • White goods
  • 2 seater sofas

There are several ways you can help; by donating furniture and household items; by volunteering or fundraising; by visiting their chairty shop or by making a financial donation. For more information please visit their website Re-Loved.org.
